Australia is amidst a wildlife health crisis of an unprecedented scale.

Since the industrial revolution, a vast array of synthetic chemicals has been manufactured for a wide variety of uses by humans, including supporting increased agricultural production; industrial compounds; and pharmaceuticals for humans and other animals. However, the sometimes-disastrous impacts on the health of exposed biota and productivity of exposed ecosystems are seemingly being largely overlooked.

Energy from Waste (EfW) is utilised in many parts of the world as the primary method of municipal wastes management that also has the benefits of energy recovery and wastes sterilisation.  It is a one of the levels on the wastes hierarchy and complements reuse and recycling.

SSEE - WMAA 11th Annual Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Student Award Night

This years event is being hosted by the University of Queensland at the St Lucia Campus.  The purpose of the night is to allow Environmental Engineering and Science undergraduate students from Queensland universities to feature their thesis and project work to an audience of industry professionals and fellow students.

The event also allows a demonstration of the directions in current environmental research and to show the diversity and quality of content in thesis studies from all over Queensland.

Electric Vehicles and Sustainable Transport

Andrew will provide a technical and up to date discussion of sustainable transport including information on the following items:

  • the current status of electric vehicles;
  • the future role of electric vehicle in a broader vision for urban sustainability.

Panel Discussion:

The seminar will conclude with a Question and Answer session to an invited panel including Andrew, and representatives and advocates of Rail Back on Track and and CityCycle.
