The Regulatory Regime - Warren Mortlock of DEHP
Warren will discuss the best management practices to minimise the impact of development and human activities on Koalas. He will discuss actions such as habitat connection, ‘refuge and safe zones’, road crossings, and ‘koala permeable’ designs.
He will also discuss the changes in the regulatory approach from government, such as the future of the State Planning Regulatory Provisions (SPRP) for Koalas in SEQ and how this will impact of the management and preservation of Koalas in the future.
Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital - Claude Lacasse
Claude will provide some firsthand information on the issues facing Koala's and other wildlife in SEQ.
She will discuss how the hospital operates and the number and type of animals who need it's assistance. She will also outline what we can do as a community to assist in reducing our impact on these special animals.
