The seminar provided a brief background on the uses of toxic material in pavements around the world.
There are numerous toxic materials that can be used as recycled products in road pavements. These include used tyres, waste from power plants and construction waste.
The topic covered looked at the overall picture on how this industry has come about in the US (California), and how Recycled Roads pavements can implement similar systems in Queensland.
The potential for these types of environmentally friendly roads are huge and the presentation hoped to raise awareness with Queensland Engineers.
The presentation was followed by a discussion where comments and questions from attendees were welcomed.
