Water accounting is a systematic process of identifying, recognising, quantifying, reporting, and assuring:
- information about water
- the rights and other claims to that water, and
- the obligations against that water.
This presentation will:
- Provide an introduction to the standards
- Explain that the Australia Water Accounting Standards are principle based and provide a structure for the preparation and assurance of General Purpose Water Accounting Reports
- Outline the objectives of General Purpose Water Accounting Reports
- Describe the benefits to preparers and users of preparers
- Explore some of the resources created to support adoption
- Allow discussion and questions
