Steve Posselt FIE, author, adventurer and current chair of the Sustainable Engineering Society (SENG), will take you on an incredible journey with his wheeled kayak. The only person to have paddled up the Mississippi in a flood, Steve will have you spellbound as he makes his way to Paris for the COP21 Climate Summit.
His trip culminated back in Canberra in 2017 where he had started in January 2015. On the way he learned a new way of thinking. Communication difficulties that were inexplicable at the time now have an explanation. What Steve learned can be seen every day once one is aware. You too can practise to see what might work for you.
The climate change message, that is the science has not sunk in where it is needed. The message is correct but the messaging has failed. Steve will give you some clues as to how our imperfect brains work, and how to tailor communication approaches to suit.
Steve will also discuss SENG, its relevance, initiatives and what the future may hold.
