This event will focus on the engineering challenges to be overcome in delivering the Suncable project, including:
Overall sustainability goals/objectives of the project (e.g. expected emissions abated in Australia and Singapore)
Specific engineering challenges with HVDC (losses, grid connection across 3 countries etc)
Environmental challenges – ie seabed protection from cabling, any habitat considerations on land/ sea / and at the land/sea transition point
Presenter
Jeswant Brahamanandam is the Head of Corporate Development for Sun Cable and is based in Sydney. At Sun Cable, Jeswant joined Sun Cable after a 7 year stint at McKinsey and Company where he served a broad range of private sector and public sector players in the energy, oil and gas, mining and resources industries on strategy, operations, project development and transformation topics. Prior to joining McKinsey, Jeswant worked for ConocoPhillips, the world’s largest independent oil & gas company, for 7 years in project development and operations roles. Jeswant brings significant global experience having worked in Australia, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Europe over his 15-year career.
Jeswant has a chemical engineering degree from Curtin University and an MBA from INSEAD. Jeswant is a co-founder of a non-profit aid initiative Medical Oxygen for All, that is focused on delivering critical oxygen equipment and other health care infrastructure to help combat the effects of COVID-19 in rural India.
