Judged on design excellence, innovation and impact – whether it be social, commercial or environmental – the best in class gong at the Good Design awards is one of the country’s highest design honours.
Winners are chosen by a panel of more than 70 industry experts. This year’s awards received a record 930 applications across 12 design disciplines, from Australia and around the world.
The best in class product design winners were a mix of futuristic and common-sense objects, ranging from a fishing rod cases to smart home devices.

With Johnson on holiday in Spain, the shadow business secretary will say the UK is in danger of allowing “greenwashing” at Cop26, with insufficient pledges from countries across the world so far to make the summit a success.

Insulate Britain protesters have accused the government of delaying taking action against them to avoid the embarrassment of having demonstrators in prison while Glasgow hosts a crucial climate summit.
Members of the climate activist group, who have blocked motorways and busy roads in and around London, were in the high court on Tuesday morning. They were responding to three injunctions granted to National Highways that ban the group from protesting on the M25, on the M4 and around the port of Dover.
